Skin undertones refer to the subtle hues that lie beneath the surface of the skin. Unlike skin tone, which can change with sun exposure or skincare products, undertones remain constant throughout your life. There are three primary types of skin undertones:
Cool Undertones: Characterized by hints of blue, pink, or purple beneath the skin. People with cool undertones often have fair skin that burns easily and may have light eyes (blue, green, or grey).
Warm Undertones: Featuring golden, peachy, or yellow hues beneath the skin. Individuals with warm undertones typically have a golden glow, often tan easily, and may have hazel, brown, or amber eyes.
Neutral Undertones: A blend of both cool and warm undertones, neutral skin tones may appear balanced and can wear a variety of colors. People with neutral undertones often have olive skin or a combination of pink and yellow hues.
