Color casts happen when the lighting temperature or surroundings distort the colors captured in a photo.

Indoor tungsten lighting = warm/yellow cast

Fluorescent bulbs = green cast

Mixed lighting (natural + artificial) = unpredictable tones

Green or yellow-painted walls = reflected color bleed

Unbalanced camera white balance = magnified cast in skin

These casts particularly affect:

Foundation tone accuracy

Open your image

Go to Tools > White Balance

Slide the Temperature bar left to reduce warmth

Use the Tint tool (if available) to neutralize any green left over

Optional: go to Tune Image > Saturation and slightly increase to recover product color

Tap Color > Temp and slide left (cooler)

Adjust Tint toward magenta to offset any green cast

Use Color Mixer to tweak individual hues (e.g., restore lip red)

Open White Balance

Slide the Tint bar toward magenta/pink

Go to Color > Tint and move it right

Slightly increase vibrance (not saturation) to revive color harmony

One in natural light

One in fluorescent or mixed light

Open both in Snapseed or Lightroom

Compare skin tone, blush, lip, and brow color

Apply only color temperature and tint correction—no other edits

Match both photos to appear consistent
